This is the third book in The New Species series, Fury, and Slade were books one & two, and were also fantastic! Don't confuse this series with Lora Leigh's breed series, the new Species series is totally fresh, and original. I'm sooo glad the Laurann kept this series, and re-edited it for current consumption, ( she originally wrote this in the early 90's). There does appear to be mate recognition in this series, it seems to be by scent, so yay for those animalistic senses! This is a great story! Valiant, is totally opposed to humans, after the horrific treatment he and his fellow New Species have received from humans, so it only makes sense that his mate be a human, (big grin here).
